Dutypoint’s Contribution to the Water Projects Online Initiative
Featured on Water Projects Online, the Haxey-Graizelound Sewage Treatment Works scheme is presented as a model of how the water industry meets modern challenges. Water Projects Online is a digital platform showcasing case studies and technical papers in the water and wastewater sector, highlighting collaborative efforts to deliver sustainable water infrastructure.
The platform’s coverage of this project, part of a national program to enhance wastewater treatment, emphasises the value added by specialist partners like Dutypoint in delivering reliable, compliant solutions. As highlighted by Water Projects Online, Dutypoint played a key role in this project, demonstrating our commitment to delivering high-performance solutions for critical water infrastructure projects.
Project Challenges
This project required two high-performance booster systems, each designed to fulfil different roles within the wastewater treatment works. The final effluent wastewater set needed to provide high flow and pressure to service washdown activities, while the potable water system had to deliver consistent pressure in a compact footprint. The remote nature of the site and the absence of suitable infrastructure for equipment housing added further complexity.
Project Solution
Dutypoint tackled these challenges by delivering two pre-engineered, bespoke water booster systems designed for immediate integration and long-term reliability.
- For high-demand washdown: We designed a powerful wash water booster system, housed within a durable, GRP kiosk with a fully enclosed base. This self-contained unit simplified installation and protected the equipment from the elements. Inside, three high-performance multistage vertical pumps worked together to deliver the necessary flow and pressure for effective cleaning, ensuring operational efficiency.
- For consistent potable water: We provided a compact, efficient potable water booster set. This system maintained a stable water pressure for the site’s domestic needs, even within the limited space available. We used high-quality stainless steel pipework for long-term reliability and compliance with water quality standards.
The benefit: By delivering pre-assembled offsite solutions, we minimised on-site installation time and ensured the systems were ready for immediate, reliable operation. The site now benefits from consistent water pressure for both operational and domestic needs, with systems designed for long-term durability and easy maintenance.
