Project Summary

Dutypoint supplied a space-efficient QuadraTANK® with integrated VR3 Booster Set to support site operations, combining potable and final effluent water delivery for a growing local population in a constrained, environmentally sensitive setting.

Dutypoint’s Contribution to the Water Projects Online Initiative

The Leominster Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) project is featured on Water Projects Online, a platform showcasing collaboration, innovation, and compliance in the UK water sector. This initiative highlights projects that demonstrate partnership, leading-edge solutions, and conformity in the UK water sector.

Welsh Water, in partnership with Arcadis and Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, undertook a major £12.1m investment to upgrade the Leominster WwTW ahead of new AMP7 phosphorus permit regulations. Dutypoint was selected to supply an integrated booster set to support the site’s potable and wash water requirements, helping ensure long-term operational efficiency.

Project Challenges

The upgrade of the Leominster WwTW required a solution that could efficiently deliver both potable and final effluent water within a compact footprint, due to site constraints imposed by proximity to a railway and existing infrastructure. The solution also needed to integrate seamlessly with the new tertiary treatment processes and MCC systems while operating reliably.

Project Solution

Dutypoint provided a fully integrated LHT QuadraTANK® system with a VR3 booster set designed to meet both potable and non-potable demands. Key features included:

  • WIMES-compliant VR3 Booster with panel wall mounting
  • Pressure transducer on the suction manifold
  • Air valve on the discharge manifold
  • WRAS-approved, ensuring compliance with water safety regulations
  • SWA cable with labelled IDs and valve tags for efficient onsite installation and maintenance

This pre-engineered system was quick to install and well-suited to the site’s confined layout. It supports critical final effluent washdown and delivers consistent potable water pressure for on-site use, providing a reliable backbone for regulatory compliance and operational continuity.
