Pedn-Olva Hotel, perched on the rocky coast of St Ives, Cornwall, underwent a complete transformation ahead of its summer 2025 reopening. The renovation enhanced both the visual charm and functional performance of this iconic seafront hotel, with reimagined interiors, improved accessibility, and upgraded safety infrastructure.
Fire protection formed a key part of the hotel’s upgrade strategy, ensuring compliance with BS 9251:2021. Given the extensive renovations, the hotel required a fire protection system that could be delivered and installed efficiently without disrupting the overall project timeline. The Pedn-Olva’s coastal location, confined plant space, and retrofit constraints demanded a fire protection system that was:

The unit includes an automatic weekly test loop, LPCB-approved flow switch, lockable monitored discharge valve, and both manual and automated flow test outlets. All components are housed within a mild steel skid-mounted base, offering durability and space efficiency.
The system easily meets the pressure and flow requirements of Pedn-Olva’s layout while remaining compact enough for tight plantroom integration. The right pressure and protection – packed into a no-fuss footprint.
