South Bank Quay in Teesworks, is a dedicated offshore infrastructure zone being developed to support the next generation of wind energy manufacturing. To support this vast and strategically important operation, a reliable, high-performance water boosting and storage system was essential, one capable of meeting significant operational and environmental challenges.
The required system needed to deliver high-capacity output, withstand the rigours of a coastal environment, and integrate seamlessly with extensive quay-side infrastructure. High flow rates were essential to maintain critical operations at the site, while external placement, space constraints, and long-term reliability added further complexity. Dutypoint was entrusted with delivering a fully featured, insulated kiosk system engineered to meet all of these demands.
Project Solution
To meet the demands of a high-performance offshore facility, Dutypoint supplied a bespoke QuadraTANK® kiosk system engineered for resilience, capacity, and environmental protection. The 15,800L twin-compartment tank maximised storage and ensured continuity of supply, critical for large-scale industrial operations. A VMV twin vertical multistage booster set, each with a 15kW variable speed drive, ensured responsive, energy-efficient pressure management suitable for high flow demands.
To address the coastal site’s exposure and weather extremes, the kiosk featured 50mm insulation, integrated heating, a thermostat, and internal lighting – delivering robust frost protection and all-season operability. Full stainless steel pipework, flanged suction and discharge manifold and corrosion-resistant valves further ensure longevity in a marine-adjacent environment.
Additional system features included sparge pipes at the outlet to aid flow distribution, along with high/low float switches and level sensors for automated control and monitoring, reducing the need for manual oversight and supporting seamless integration with the site’s wider infrastructure.
The result was a future-ready, plug-and-play solution perfectly matched to the unique operational and environmental challenges of the South Bank Quay development.
