Select system categories and sprinkler heads
Evaluate category types, head types, K-factors, and flow requirements for effective system design.
Design layouts and water supply
Determine head placement, storage cistern capacity, water supply options and the role of priority demand valves (PDVs).
Specify pumps and system arrangements
Compare dedicated and combined sprinkler pumps for different buildings and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
Understand compliance and industry practice
Recognise contentious issues and the roles of certification bodies, including BAFSA, FIRAS, and LPCB.
