PROJECT BACKGROUND

Industry sector Residential development

Project type Building conversion

Client Sheen Lane Developments

PROJECT SUMMARY

A new residential development in Wembley needed a compact cold-water solution to supply 346 apartments recently converted from a commercial office building. The extension complements the original structure with a seven-storey rooftop build and separate block comprising fifteen floors and twenty-six new flats. To ensure adequate water pressure in every apartment, Dutypoint supplied two cold-water booster sets and totally internally flanged sectional tanks – one for each tower.

PROJECT CHALLENGE

Adequate fire safety in tower blocks is essential to protect the lives and homes of the residents. Because the booster sets supplied by Dutypoint serve the fire sprinklers, they had to have a “second required value”, allowing them to switch to a higher pressure when activated by the BMS.

PROJECT SOLUTION

Dutypoint supplied two VR cold-water booster sets and totally internally flanged sectional tanks, offering more storage than one- or two-piece tanks without taking up extra room. The tanks were delivered to the site in sections and assembled by our team. Combining the sectional tanks with the cold-water booster sets made procurement, delivery and installation much easier.
